In FIFe, it is the Board´s responsibility to ensure that proposals accepted at General Assemblies are implemented and included in the appropriate set of Statutes or Rules. At the 2019 General Assembly a proposal was accepted regarding the compulsory radiographic evaluation test on Hip Dysplasia for Maine Coon cats used in breeding and the official registration and publication of these test results. However, the Board decided not to implement this proposal, in other words to grant an exception to all Members to follow this rule. This decision was not taken lightly and was based on recommendations received from the Health & Welfare and Disciplinary Commissions, establishing there is no fair unequivocal way to accomplish this testing in all FIFe Member countries for all Maine Coon cats.

 

 

FIFe-hallituksen vastuulla on varmistaa, että säännöt, jotka FIFe GA:ssa on hyväksytty, voidaan asiallisesti toteuttaa. Vuoden 2019 GA:ssa hyväksyttiin sääntö Maine Coonien pakollisesta HD-kuvauksesta. Hallitus on kuitenkin päättänyt, että sääntöä ei panna käytäntöön, toisin sanoen se myöntää kaikille jäsenilleen poikkeuksen säännön noudattamiseen. Päätöstä ei ole tehty kevein perustein, vaan se on tehty perustuen FIFe Terveys- ja Hyvinvointikomitean sekä FIFe Kurinpitokomiten suosituksiin, joissa osoitettiin, että sääntöä ei pystytä toteuttamaan FIFe-laajuisesti, jokaisessa jäsenmaassa ja kaikille Maine Cooneille.
